The Female Champion Sound In the beginning there was the garden, and in the garden was a rose – Tasha Rozez to be exact! Well known to the Dancehall industry, Tasha Rozez a.k.a. Gunz n Rozez got her start in the boroughs of Toronto in 2000, and was known as the 'conscious rude girl'. Not willing to be dominated by the men in the industry, Tasha proved that she was one flower who would stand the test of time as she later went on to become the first female Sound Clash Champion. Her training began with legendary gladiator sounds that inspired her; sounds such as Bass Odyssey, Kilimanjaro, Stone Love, Black Kat and Mighty Crown. While watching those sounds, Tasha honed her skills, and made sure she stayed on the cutting edge of Dancehall by keeping up to date with happenings in Jamaica and the newest music coming out of the studios. Tasha Rozez grew to the point that she now plays with Metro Media and Tony Matterhorn on most major dances locally and internationally. Recently gracing Germany with her skills in April and again on this year’s annual Fully loaded in Jamaica, Mz Rozez is in her prime. |
