Renee Robinson
Renee Roxanne Vanessa Robinson was born on the small beautiful Caribbean island Jamaica. She spent her preteen and the beginning of her adolescent years growing up and in the islands capital Kingston. At the age of 14, she immigrated to Ottawa Ontario Canada where she currently lives and is finishing her Masters in Science. Music is and has always been a very important part of her life. She inherited her voice from her mother who was a classically trained operatic singer. Her mother noticed her vocal talent at the very young age of 3, after which she quickly encouraged her to sing in the local churches and signed her up for classical vocal training. As a result Renee has a strong background in classical and gospel music. Although she was primarily an operatic singer, at a very young age, she found herself in love with the vocal styles of Mariah Carey and Celine Dion and developed a more “pop” sound from trying to emulate their vocal technique. Using her talent, she successfully competed in and won various singing competitions within the Cayman Islands and Jamaica. Renee has just recently started to write and record her own original music. She describes her style as a fusion of R&B, pop, opera, reggae and soul. |
